RELYANT Global, LLC is seeking an experienced Site Safety and Health Officer for a project in Ft. McCoy. The SSHO has the overall responsibility to implement safety, health and environmental programs and procedures within the worksite in pursuit of a zero-incident culture. Maintain best practices designed to enhance and improve regulatory compliance, as well as minimize industrial injuries/illness, workers' compensation costs, property damage and other general liability losses. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

The ES&H Specialist has the overall responsibility for assisting in the protection of the safety and health of RELYANT Global, subcontractor, government, and visitor personnel while on site. The ES&H Specialist will implement the requirements of the Health and Safety Plan (HASP or APP Accident Prevention Plan) and insure implementation by site personnel for the duration of site activities. The Site ES&H Specialist will also assess personnel records, evaluate personnel performing tasks and determine that all personnel are properly trained, qualified, equipped, and physically protected from the site and operational hazards to the greatest extent feasible.

During on-site project performance, the ES&H Specialist will report administratively to the Site Supervisor with a functional responsibility to the Corporate Safety and Health Manager. As such, the Site Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative supervision of the ES&H manager assigned at the site. However, the direct reporting and accountability of the ES&H manager will lie with the CSHM. To effectively implement RELYANT GLOBAL's safety and health program, the ES&H Specialist will:

  1. Initiate and authorize a "Stop Work" order for any imminent S&H concerns;
  2. Implement and enforce the requirements outlined in the HASP;
  3. Conduct the safety portion of the daily tailgate briefings;
  4. Conduct and document site training related to site-specific hazards;
  5. Specify proper levels of PPE IAW the requirements of the HASP;
  6. Implement and enforce the RELYANT Alcohol/Drug Abuse Policy;
  7. In conjunction with the SS, investigate and report in a timely manner any injuries, illnesses, accidents, incidents, or near misses;
  8. Conduct visitor orientation, daily safety inspections, and weekly safety audits;
  9. Properly complete the requisite safety and health related forms to capture required safety and health data;
  10. Immediately inform the CSHM when a SOW change occurs that effects the tasks addressed in the HASP;
  11. Provide the CSHM with task hazard data for any new tasks or any tasks that significantly change during the conduct of site operations;
  12. Assess each task and assess the effective implementation of the safety and health provisions required by the HASP;
  13. Implement the SSHO requirements within each RELYANT ESHP; and
  14. Implement the pertinent and requisite requirements of the RELYANT Corporate Safety and Health Plan.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in ES&H to include industrial, construction safety, and environmental protection.
  • 30 Hr. Construction Safety Course
  • CPR/FA training
  • HAZWOPER 40 Hr. or be up to date on HAZWOPER 8Hr Refresher.
  • Certification in either A Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST)
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) is a plus.
